Amman Arab University was established in 1997 by the Higher Education Council Resolution No. (1476) dated 24/11/1997, as a private non-profit university specializing in postgraduate studies, under the name "Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies"; On 30/9/1998, the Higher Education Council granted the University approval to start teaching by its decision No. (1625), where the university received the first group of students since the beginning of the second semester of the academic year 1999/2000.

The university's career has gone through two phases; the first was limited to graduate programs, and the second began in 2009 with the promotion of the university by opening bachelor's programs. The university was renamed Amman Arab University.

Since the inception of the university and its sponsors, they are doing their utmost to be an effective partner in the effort exerted at the national and regional level in enhancing the quality of education, and to provide an environment that develops the student's thinking to be an active and creative element that benefits the society, in addition to being an attractive environment for students from neighboring and foreign countries. .

The University constantly strives to achieve excellence, promote entrepreneurship and creativity, provide quality education, authentic scientific research, and community service. The University undertook to provide the labor market with graduates with knowledge and training, qualified to excel in their professional field and able to meet the requirements of the labor market. The University works to encourage scientific, critical and creative thinking and achieve excellence based on theoretical and applied education. To achieve this, the university is working to develop its study plans to keep pace with the developments in a rapidly changing and evolving world, in addition to developing the educational process by increasing skills, and the introduction of integrated e-learning to keep pace with the skills of the new generation. It serves the community and contributes to its development.

The University promotes pluralism, cultural thinking, cultural interaction and acceptance of the other, and the rejection of all forms of intolerance and violence. In particular, since its establishment, the University has provided the local and regional community with highly qualified graduates who have been taught and nurtured by competent and distinguished faculty members with postgraduate degrees from different local, regional and international universities.

The University is located on Jordan Street in the Mobes area, 12 km north of Amman. The campus to which the university has moved since the beginning of the 2013/2014 academic year is located in an area overlooking the capital Amman, Balqa Governorate, and the Baqa'a Basin, and close to Jerash Governorate.

The campus and facilities are constantly growing to achieve the highest standards of quality, and work to increase the number of specialties to serve the needs of the labor market, and meet the needs of the. Existing buildings now exceed 15,000 square meters, with more than 5,000 square meters of courtyards, green spaces and playgrounds.
